New shooters

See all these threads about how the shooting community needs more and new shooters. Then they come here and deal with folks like this.. seems pretty simple to me. That's all folks

Don't get discouraged. There are rude people out there, including this forum. Pay attention to members like Boyd Allen and you will enjoy the website as well as the sport. Most of the members are a class act...some not so much.

Appreciate it, I have been a member here for quite some time, wasn't exactly referring to me.. Just making an observation out of an totally uncalled for reply.

It's reasons such as this that a new guy like me almost has to fight the urge to participate. I'd rather read and gather information.

It's funny when you're new and ask a question. Most people take their knowledge for granted because they've been doing it for so long. But in the case of a new guy, even the simplest task is new and needs answered.

Granted I've only been around for a few days. I found this forum by Googling Sierra 22-250 load data. This site popped up with some PDF files of the info. So I decided that this might just be the spot to come and gather information. It appears that I'll be doing more observation and searching on my own than asking questions.

It looks like he's one of those guys who's only puprpose of being here is to sell in the free classifieds.

At least 95% of the members here will bend over backwards to help and answer questions. At times the answers may sound condescending but the information is still good.

You are correct in the observation that many (including myself) sometimes fall into the line of thought that "everyone knows that" forgetting that we had to learn it at some point in the past.

Welcome aboard!

Don't even remotely feel this way, yes observing and back reading good, but most will bend over backwards to answer your questions.
Plus it's the web and guy needs a somewhat thicker skin, the reply the op gave was uncalled for and childish, but rare.

There are a few Social Hand Grenades on this site but the majority of folks are very helpful. Many very experienced and accomplished shooters/competitors here who are very generous with their information and time.

Keep researching, gathering data and asking questions. Weed through the chaff and select the data that keeps you moving towards your goal. Once you get more knowledgeable you will become one of the contributors. I haven't meet anyone in the accuracy and precision game that has figured out how to consistently shoot small groups and high scores completely on their own. They may exists but are likely few and far between.

Oh I've got a thick skin. That's what 4 years in the infantry, college, and over 11 years of working law enforcement will give you. But one thing that I can't stand are these keyboard gangsters who put on their internet balls because no ones standing in front of them who will break their jaw for them.

I mind my own business and have fun. I can't stand drama, I deal with it for 8+ hours a day and don't need it when it comes to my hobbies.
