Malcolm, feel free to reach out to me. Woody gave you my phone number.Hello everyone,
I'm a new shooter from Franklinton, LA, just beginning my journey into the F-Open world. I’ve previously competed in PRS and NRL22 matches, but decided it was time to try something new—and jumped into F-Open headfirst.
Following my “buy once, cry once” philosophy, I reached out to Greg at GT Accuracy to get started right. He’s currently building me a 7 PRCW on a Borden BRMXD action, paired with a McMillan Kestros R stock and topped with a March High Master Majesta in Near MFG rings.
As I get started, I’d really appreciate any advice you seasoned F-Open shooters might have for a newcomer. Over the next year, my goal is to learn the ins and outs of the rifle and cartridge, burn through the two barrels I’ve picked up, and most importantly—have a blast doing it.
Also, huge shoutout to Greg at GT Accuracy—he’s been incredibly helpful and I’m really looking forward to seeing the final build.
Thank you,
Malcolm

Finally got my rifle in and went out to zero the scope and put some bullets down range. All I can say is wow. Greg at GT Accuracy knocked it out of the park with this build for me. I only shot 50 round this weekend, with a random load of 52.5gn of N555 and 2 thousand off the lands and gun shot great. I really wanted to learn the rifle and the NEO X rest and get some brass fire formed. Later this week I plan on doing some load development. First I will do a powder charge test and then do a seating depth test with the hopes I can find some decent enough to shot at a club match on the 15th of November. Once again thank you to all the advice from everyone on this forum and a big thank you to Greg at GT Accuracy. I will post up one of my groups from today. All five shot groups were pretty much like this or better.
