New rifle

Just picked up my new savage 12 lrp 6.5 creedmoor, athlon argos btr 8-34×56 scope, bipod, and 100 rounds of hornady 140 gr elds. On my way home to pick up the chrony then to the range. Range report coming soon.

Savage does not include a barrel break in procedure, anyone know it?

I cleaned fired 1, cleaned fired 2, cleaned fired 3, cleaned then shot had a 100 yard 3 shot group at .75 and a 300 yard 3 shot group at 3".

I was wrong what bullets i bought. They were the hornady black 140s.

If i figure out how i will post pics. Yes i will search

Scope review. Im happy nice and clear with my messed up eyes up to 24× after that it starts to darken and hard to stay in proper relief. All in id say much better than the 369.00 price tag.
Had hella mirage too was 98 degree farenheit ambient temperature today with very mild wind.

Shot three more groups this morning in much more favorable conditions, 75 degree occasional light breeze. I still need at least a good rear bag. The scope was good all the way to 34× but suffers from very picky eye refief at high power. Groups were all under 3" with hornady black 140 ammo. Best group is 3/4" on vertical axis and 2 3/8" on horizontal axis. I only shot 15 rounds in 3 groups of 5 all at 300 yards.

I am pleased to say the least. Better factory ammo would help and once i start working up a load should be real good.
