New Rifle, older eyes.

Just got a Tikka Ace target in 223 and need a scope .

Last year, I join a good group of bench shooters at my club. Built a 22 lr with a Vortex Golden Eagle on it. With the new rifle I would like a scope with a bit more defined floating dot reticle. Getting a lot of info from friends on the line, would appreciate input from folks here. Looking close a Nightforce and Sightron, with illumination possibly. I’ll be shooting off a Rodzilla rest at 100 yard exclusively. Eyes aren’t what the use to be. Thanks all

Illumination is no good if you have had replacement lenses--you get halo effect
If you study specs you will see a lot of dots are approx .087 give or take but the Nightforce 12-42 is maybe .187 I think IIRC a Big diff! We love that scope with the DD reticle--it is perfect reticle for rimfire bench work
Be sure to consider it
Old Dominion Custom Rifles in VA is THE place to buy a NF --trust me on that one

The next match is the place to look through scopes--every shooter will be glad to let you look--You will find what you like and dislike very fast

Dot size matters a Lot

I'm an old fart and the center dot on the Vortex GEs were too small and were hard to sse. I switched to Sightron SV 10-50x scopes and March 10-60x HM scopes with MTR-4 reticles which are better for my old eyes,

Look at the Sightron S6 series.
Field Target and Benchrest 10-50
I believe they have a slightly larger dot size than some other BR scopes.
Look through any scope you can to make a comparison.
Make sure you look through them at the same power levels.
See what YOUR eyes like, not what others say looks good to them.
