new reloading tool!

I just bought this - http://www.ipevo.com/prods/Point-2-View-USB-Camera

Use it like this:

and it produces this:

And, one for those curious what's in that box! (also taken with the P2V camera)...

Ok, I didn't buy it to take random pictures of things like I did above. That was me playing with the new toy :)
I bought it for this:

Instead of messin' with digital scales, I choose to use digital gadgets to improve the old trusty beam scale (tuned by Scott Parker).

That's a 28" monitor, which should give you an idea of how big the view is in that picture. I can blow it up to full-screen and it stays pretty darn clear!

I'm posting this because I think other people might have a need for such a tool, but maybe not aware of what's available. You can also use this as a web cam, and it does well all the way back to about 10 ft.

I went through three different web cams trying to get the close-up clarity like shown above... even a $100+ web cam couldn't do this. Not to say they're all that bad, but the one I tested couldn't get close to the results I got from this thing.

Thanks Walt for the post. I have been thinking about buying one for awhile. Now I know which one to buy. I have a beam scale tuned by Scott as well. Hard to beat a good tuned beam scale IMO.

Walt,
I bought one for the same purpose but and it was clear like yours but it was about the size of the square we post in on this site, you know like 1/4 of the laptop screen and no way to make it bigger, I will order one of these, thanks for the tip.
Wayne.

How else do you see using the camera in the reloading science? Checking concentricity, bullet deformation, case deterioration, powder cop? I appreciate your thoughts.

Now that I have this thing, I've been thinking about that myself.

works good for checking flash holes from the inside or the primer pocket. (works very well on the live feed, but difficult to get a clear still shot) You get the idea...

This a 1.25" diameter gauge on an indicator.

and another... This is the P2V camera pointed at my RCBS "Case Master Gauging Tool" indicator. And the live feed of that displayed full-screen on the 28" monitor in the background.

I'm curious what other uses people might come up with/suggest.
