new reloader

having trouble with my 243 win, loaded 87gr vmax with 37.5gr h414 shot .5 groups on monday loaded 10 more same day had to wait about two weeks to shoot again groups went 1.5. can anyone help?

A few more facts would help. What type of rifle, barrel, action trued?, from a rest, bipod?,what wind , temp conditions? There are also just statistical averages, maybe the load is a 1" load, in which case both .5" and 1.5" are the extremes. Keep shooting.

All of the above plus: what kind of scope? What distance? 3,5 or ? shot groups? What kind, if any rear rest? What type of bench/ shakey wood, or solid, or concrete? What is the history of the rifle, meaning how many rounds have been fired thru the barrel? Floated barrel? Is it bedded or factory "drop-in"? And on and on with questions before you can expect any type of answer.

Dont have my log book with me but im pretty sure it was 6-5 shot groups was testing new brass vs. old brass vs. diff. brand of brass. I have about 100 brass stamped FC the rest are rem. the results were they all shot good but the FC brass (not shure of maker they were free and in good shape) made one ragged hole went back loaded 5 more had same results. Rifle is M12fv 243 win. solid wood bench, front and rear rest, about 600 rounds shot through it some factory some hand loads, about 55deg. sunshine light breeze.
