New range record at Deep Creek

I know you would've shot sub 1" without it

Great shooting Shawn, see ya at the Randezvous
Lol I would “typically “ agree but the tuner was installed after the fact Lol this situation had some tendencies I could not clean up. It was a 87 percent er… a previous situation a few years ago handled in a similar but worse Fashion actually to the point it was literally not usable Pryor to a tuner installation … so from that previous situation and knowledge I installed the Tuner to proceed forward with this one with the intent to proof the possibilities with a sub part situation… there’s a delicate balance to most equations but few things are “line” items I find just understanding when and why is immensely helpful … very interesting for sure ..

Great job on the small group. That is really small for 1,000 yds. Can you tell us what cartridge you are shooting, assuming it was a BRA? Congrats.

Boyd I was not annealing, l like to cycle my brass and keep annealing as a tool to bring brass back into a state that I can cycle brass once again.

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I figured that that is what you are doing. As you probably have figured out I have tried to make internet readers aware that annealing after every firing is not a requirement for winning in long range benchrest. I learned this from interviews that I did while writing for the IBS, interviewing winners.

Many years back I helped a friend fix a problem with excess variation of shoulder bump for a couple of his magnum hunting cartridges. We were able to fix his problem with a two torch flame annealing machine, and in the process found that if we monitored consistency of shoulder bump consistency(.300 WSM and .338 Lap.) that we could see the effect from annealing start to go away after a couple of firings. We ran into the problem because I was bumping too little for big magnums for hunting. I set up the die based on a couple of cases and did them all without checking (before we were annealing) If I had just bumped .003, we probably would have never had an issue, but of course, being a benchrest guy at the time, I set the die for .001.
