New Project just for Fun

I`m thinking a RB / LP Borden Alpine single shot in 22BR Imp. and 6BR Imp. in a Manners stock.........

OR.....maybe a 12 and an 8 twist in 22BR Imp. for the light and heavies......

Decisions, decisions........

I can easily see an 8 twist arriving here before to long.

The 6 mm version was around .007", I feel these were much less. I only measured 1 while at the range, it was 1.528". I was planning on trimming anyway, and did so after getting home to 1.522" all 52 cases. They have had the full treatment, and sized in the Harrels Dasher die I shortened for the 6mm version with .248" bushing. They have not been turned so will run expander through them for uniformity.

I have a barrel in the lathe, but will alter my Wilson inline 22BR die with BRDX reamer asap.

How about a .248 neck , 221 fireball case, 40° shoulder, shorter neck, "improved" cartridge ? :D I have a tight neck fireball now, that I will probably never shoot the barrel out, but it would look AWESOME !! Maybe hold 19-21 grains of H4198 powder... or doing a 17fireball, or shortening the 22BR case to hold that much..
450 yds. is about the max on the "varmints" I've shot around here, but be nice to stretch it to 475-500.. using the 50-53 V max in a 7-9 twist barrel.

Tim, your project sounds fun !!!

I am about as excited as I ever get shooting this new 22BR-AI, if looking for something with a little less powder I had a guy on Varmints Den send me 2 fired cases from his wildcat, its a 22PPC AI. Some actions will pull both cases and it looks really nice in hand.

Tim,

We need some group therapy. Your killen me. Lol. :D:p

Shot this morning matter of fact, still need to tweek seating depth, but 32.3 gr Benchmark is the ticket for the 53 V-Max running 3786 fps. Nice small 7 shot group with mouse ears for 2 shots. Tried 8208, RL15, Benchmark. I am going to also get 50 gr Blitzking on Gabes recommendation. Will include H322 testing the 50,s. Love the caliber very much.

Tim, late to the party, but what is your fire formed case capacity on this round ? Thanks, Seymour

What method do you use? I never tried this but once many years ago. Water to the mouth? or H380? Let me know, and I`ll check for you.

Never loaded for top end yet, the speed above is fine with holdover reticle out past 500 yds. The barrel is 26" also.
