New Peterson and ADG Brass

That Peterson page is a little confusing since at the top it lists some brass as now available and then the bottom says in development for the same brass?

I've been doing some research into that 338 EnABELR that was designed by Applied Ballistics. Pushes the 300gr Berger at 3200 fps. Would make for a good ELR round.

Peterson brass is tough as hell so I'm glad to see they are bringing out some quality brass that will save a couple cartridges that were about to fall into the abyss of obsolescence.

A little late to the party, but an e-mail to Peterson (inquiring for a friend who just bought a 28 Nosler) got a reply that said they had planned to release the 28Nos after the SHOT show (I assume that was where the banner shown in the OP was?), but they got slammed with government orders, and that pushed their release dates back. They're hoping to release it this summer. I assume it's the same story with the other calibers.

While I am extremely pleased with most of the ADG products, they need to improve production while maintaining their quality. I'm tired of waiting for 'out-of-stock' products and being forced to buy in significant quantities to insure my supply is not disrupted. This applies to powder and bullets also not just brass. Yes, I realize that bringing new production machinery online is both expensive and time consuming but they need to do something or I like others will be forced to go to another product. I love buying Made in the USA but... Peterson is running in spurts through Graf & Sons, sometimes they have what I want and then comes the drought! So I'm wondering about a mass staged order with significant quantities but released over a period of time to ease my financial burden of buying huge amounts all at once? We're in discussion when they get a minute...;)

I found Peterson’s new brass offerings on Facebook. This is not my photo but I stole it from Peterson Cartridge Company’s Facebook page where someone else posted it. I also found ADG’s new brass posted by Long Range Only on Facebook. These new offerings they are going to be cranking out are amazing! I’m so happy to see 6mmBR, .22 Creedmoor, and .284 Win on Peterson’s list, along with the Nosler, Norma, and RUM cartridges. This is a great time to be in for long range shooters and reloaders!

Anyone know when Peterson plans on releasing some of the 6/47 lapua brass. Also anyone have any idea when ADG will have ANYTHING in stock. Looking for some 338 edge brass.

Just finished forming Peterson 243 SRP brass into 243AI and should take it to the range this week. Very impressed with it so far. Very consistent and uniform

I've been using the ADG 308 brass (palma Shooting) for a couple of years and have been very pleased with the product. The brass is very consistent in weight and the primer pockets hold up well after repeated firings. As for "out of stock" issues, what I do know is it takes significant amounts of capital to continually produce high quality brass for various cartridges. I would rather ADG run at their optimum production rate to maintain quality and not be influenced by volume pressures. That said if the market supports them they will by natural economic order increase production volumes.

Which is exactly what I pointed out above.

I'm aware of both the cost and time involved with processes such as this, especially with regards to quality. I cut my teeth on process engineering... I do not advocate for quantities over quality ever but when it comes to an individual shooter's needs and a custom builders needs, they are worlds apart. Your needs are small by comparison to what I need to get through a year of load development for the rifles I build. I am currently forced to buy by the pallet load in order to have the products on hand which I will need for the next several months. That is a significant amount of money out of my pocket twice a year to insure that I can perform the functions a client requires IF the products are even available. Then I get accused of hording.:(

My criticism is with regard to this boutique model of production which so many manufacturers have adopted. Make smaller amounts of product, release it, sell out immediately then wait for 6 months to cycle up to produce it again. This does nothing except to force all of the consumers to over buy and horde out of fear. This has been going on for decades with VVN-133 where shooters were buying several years supply out of fear for shortages. Hornady has been caught with their pants down by this same mentality of over buying brought on by fear of not having products available when individuals need them and they were doing a super job of staying up with demand. But enter the Federal Gubment with their excessively lucrative contracts and we, the consumer, gets bent over the table once again. Yes I support capitalism and the military forces as the finest economic system in the world and defenders of our freedoms but this is getting to be stupid. :( Rant off.;)
