@Tod Hendricks (a fellow team member on Team Lapua, based here in WA with me) set the new F-Open 500 yard record yesterday at Machias range in WA, shooting 200-20X! 22 straight X's (including sighters), in pretty middling conditions, with a switching half-moa wind and enough mirage to make you doubt your hold. I think the adrenaline was a bit high as the continuation shot was his first '10' of the string.
I was scoring for the target next to him, so I had a weather eye on him the entire string. None of the X's, with the exception of the first sighter, was in any danger of missing the X-Ring. Very tight grouping indeed.
Shooting a .284 Win w/ 180 Hybrids, pretty impressive for a barrel that was "shot out and ready to be scrapped" because it only shot 13X's on the first string of the day and had 1500 rounds on it. He followed up the record string with a 200-18X.
