New or old stock pile of the rem700 varmint ?

So from what I'm hearing the newer rem700 sps varmint is much better quality in the barrel . But how do I tell or make sure I'm getting a newer one if I order it ?
Midway usa has the one I want . Hinged floor plate, 5r , threaded barrel

cant you just go by the serial numbers??

the latest remingtons from the old remington company were prefix RR- these new company remingtons are some other prefix. RAR it sounds like but u can find out. i think you could call the place youre buying this from and ask them what youre getting.

I'll call midway usa in the morning and ask if thay know .. also sounds like the new ones shoot really good . There was someone on here that has apparently had one and it was a good shooter

sounds good- let us know wat they say.
 
Just don't count on the barrel. The 6.5 CM I had was absolute garbage (RAR prefix).
