New Omega Auto Trickler

Has anyone tried the New Omega Auto Trickler? I have the Omega 2-Speed Electric Powder Trickler and am very pleased with it. So how about some opinions on the newer model? How does it work, seems like you just press the red button and when it lines up it shuts off and the charge is complete.
Can we please keep responses to just this topic please. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Dave,
I don't have a direct link but I watched several video clips on this setup sometime back on you tube, just type in Omega powder trickler and it should bring it up, it was pretty simple it looked like to me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF-jL2kJRUc I know this isn't the same as first hand from a forum member but I found one of the videos for you.

I used one all season last year. They are worth much more than the asking price.
I load competition 1000 yd match rounds where good enough is NOT good enough and everything matters. With the Omega and a Lab Scales, it works out very well. I would hate to be without it now. Buy direct, better than Sinclair.

Greg,
Dave is looking at the auto attachment that automatically shuts off the Omega when a balance scale is used, I would think you just used the original Omega to trickle on you acculab scale same as me but if I am wrong please explain how it works. Hope all is well with you over there Greg, hope to see ya at the March match.

Yes thanks Bozo, this feature is what I am interested about. I've also seen the videos and am looking for how folks rate and ease of use.

Wayne,
I trickle into the Ohaus Adventurer Pro. It is perfect for the trickler as it has the controlled environment with a hole on the top that allows for a trickle into the pan inside without outside influences. Lab scales accuracy at 0.02 grain absolutly repeatable. Better than my big Denver 800.

Mine should be here tomorrow and I intend to give a real workout this weekend. I'll be testing it with a 1010 and a 505.

I recieved my Omega Auto Trickler yesterday, very welly packaged and all items covered with bubble wrap to easily handle the sometimes not so gentle USPS folks. I put everything together and all seemed a-okay.

I got out some Varget, put a small amount in the hopper to prime the tube per the directions then filled 'er up. I started at 25.0 grains on my 1010, actually dropping about 24.7 give or take on my uniflow then using the Omega. I played with the tube weight back and forth, I could get single rows slowly dropping by sliding the weight to the outward end, but that caused some gaps between kernels or even a couple seconds gap, or I could get double rows and sometimes stacked kernels with the weight up against hopper. There is definitely going to be somewhat of a bit of time learning the fine balance between the tube weight and the hopper rotation on it's stem for different powders, middle of the tube for the weight seemed to work just right.

I threw probably 300 charges of the Varget and my 25.0 target was easy to hit (best I could tell was + a kernel) after fiddling around with the hopper rotation and tube weight for about 20 drops . I did find that depending on how fast you have the trickler dropping kernels, will dictate how close to your beam reading you set the eye to automatically kickout.

I next went up to 45.0 grains of Varget (44.7 from the uniflow) and it took about 20 drops to get it nuts on, I think I am definitely going to like this thing. I think the besy way to have the flow, is a nice single row of kernels flowing tightly end to end. Again at this weight, I probably threw 300 or so charges.

Today I needed to load some .243 winchester and I needed 44.0 H4350. Once again, it took about 20 or so drops to get me dialed in. While using the uniflow to get to about 43.7 give or take, then the Omega to get me to my 44.0 target and in no time, I had my 50 rounds charged.

Time will tell, but so far I am happy one camper. :)

I have a Target Master trickler that I use with my beam scale and it works very well. From what I have been told Allen (Target Master) worked with the Omega people to help develop the sencor that is similar to the one used with the Target Master. My Target Master works very well and I can only expect the Omega to work to the same level.

I also have the TargetMaster and my experience and understanding is the same as Tim's. The thing I like about the new Omega is the ability to calibrate the position of the weight (Sharpie marks on the tube should work). The rate of flow adjustment on the TM is via the screw height adjustment on the base and I am yet to work out a method of measuring a repeatable setting for the screw. Not a big deal but I would prefer to set it and go instead of fiddling for the first few loads when switching powders.

The concept underlying both units is a brilliant idea, once tuned they are fast, effective and reliable.
