ThanksJust like I'd clean a black powder rifle barrel. A bucket of steaming hot, soapy water and a bronze bore brush. Rinse with boiling water.
I think the problems some have had with barrels after having them back nitride treated is, they are not removing the salts that get left behind from the process. After all, it is called 'salt bath nitriding'. After brushing/cleaning it doesn't hurt anything to make a pass or 2 with JB or ISSO just to make sure you got as much out as possible before mounting and firing it. The surface is so hard you'd have to really go crazy with either of these mild abrasives to hurt anything.Just like I'd clean a black powder rifle barrel.
