New Micro-Adjust SS Sinclair/Wilson Bullet Seater Die

All of my seating dies are micro adjust. If I used a micro adjust with the click I would want to verify. Instead of going with the click/detent I go straight to verify by measuring the height of the seating plug stem above the die.

Then there are the old Lyman Universal, no press, no shell holder, same thing, verify.

Tonight I used my just delivered new style Wilson seater die. They are pricey but they are very well made. The clicks are spot on in .0005 click increments. I seated (32) 6Dasher rounds at 8 different seating depths in literally minutes. The depths varied from -.010 jam to +.030 jump. Each SD was changed in less than 1 min and the markings are very easy to read. The adjustments were absolutely spot on checking ea. with the Forster SD tool that attaches to a mic.
My (2) Wilson original 6 Dasher seater dies are now available thru PalPal at @ $60 ea. del....I can ship tomorrow :)

I bought my second Sinclair/Wilson Micro Adjust Seater Die about 3 weeks ago on sale for $149. With a $20 dollar Sinclair coupon I had that brought it down to $129. Since I am a member of the Sinclair/Brownell "EDGE" buying club I always get free shipping and free returns. The first one I purchase about a year ago was also on sale for $149 and I just checked their web site and it is on sale again for $149 so I may order a third. My experience with this seating die has been very positive like BenPerfected described in his posting just prior to this one. It has been so accurate that once set for a seating depth I only verify a few and then just do a occasional check. It also has the best bullet runout of any bullet seater that I have used. Would I pay their regular price of $200 for one, yes I would.

I would be ok with the basic Wilson seater except that you need both an Allen wrench to lock the seating stem (drift) and a flat screwdriver to adjust the depth.
We used to be able to use the same screwdriver to unlock the drift and adjust depth - I am looking to add the Sinclair micrometer top just so I don't have to keep track of two tools on an already cluttered bench.

It's curious how the little things can cause aggravation so out of proportion to their importance.

Wilson seater +21 Century arbor press is a happy combination!

I have a forster inline die for 6 br and it works great. I also have a Wilson which will replace the forster but I tried both and what little runout I had ,usually .0015 or less makes me happy.

and then one day I decided to determine how difficult can it be to seat a bullet. I knew my seating dies did not have case body support, so I built a seater? without a die body. The seater without the die body supports the neck and shoulder, when it comes to alignment it is perfect. Just for the 'heck? of it use an aluminum can crusher for a press.

I also have a Lyman universal seating die for 7mm, it is designed to be used without a press.
