OK, another guy tried to pull the same scam -- member paigepeter40.

Folks we need your help.

I am saying right now, if you get a solicitation from ANY member with less than 30 days membership, assume he is a criminal and report him to Forum Boss immediately.

And if you get a conversation like this, please contact me BEFORE you reply. With your cooperation we may be able to smoke out these b*stards. If you can get a phone number or address for them. And ask for photo ID.

I have no problem with scammers as I can't actually buy anything from the US anyway.
Most items seem 'banned for export'...even items that were originally an import into USA.
Can't buy a front rest, can't buy a nice scope, etc.
Anyway...I have had a lot of scam calls and using a 'reverse number lookup', (do you have that in the US?), I see that all my scam callers route through a company called Symbio.
They are a Singapore based company (from memory?), but branches in NZ and Oz...maybe US too?
They 'offer' access to thousands of local phone numbers (like my one) but using thousands of 'unused' or made up non-genuine numbers to call from.
Seems to be just set up to act as a conduit for scammers to operate through.
Be interesting to see if the US Communications watchdogs are more vigilant than the NZ and Oz ones are.
Edit: Folks...could you not ask a seller/buyer to talk to you on Skype (or similar)? Show you the item is real, show you their ID, etc? Would that work?
