I have to wonder if FEO at the end of your name means Fire Engine Operator.
Hahaha while it does fit my brother's occupation, I acquired that name a looooong time ago when someone in middle school realized that my name "Matt" in spanish (Mateo) conveniently rhymes with "feo" (spanish for 'ugly'). Fortunately my wife looked past the "feo" and decided to keep me around.I have to wonder if FEO at the end of your name means Fire Engine Operator.
Thanks Mateo. It is weird in a way how we can be "immortal" in some sense on the internet...yet as grass withers in the sun, so is man who passes away...@snert Here’s an old thread where he talks up some 155 Bergers he loaded up in a TRG22 that I graciously acquired from his family after he passed (I’m still shooting the same load today).
155gr Berger 308 Bullets
which one's shoot the best? The 155 VLD, 155 Boat tail match or the 155.5 fullbore?forum.accurateshooter.com
Indeed. I remember him saying to me, in his shop, working up loads, with a fat dip of Cope in his cheek:Thanks Mateo. It is weird in a way how we can be "immortal" in some sense on the internet...yet as grass withers in the sun, so is man who passes away...
Welcome to AS
As soon as you blame human behavior and responsibility on inanimate objects, you are lost in fantasy land.I have tried to keep interested in guns-reloading-shooting, but I must confess it is nearly all about the social impact of guns that concerns me now.
Some call for a replacement for guns, but that solves nothing. A replacement must by necessity perform the same, if not improved function, and the function of the gun is to kill.
I'm not unrealistic as the things cannot be un-invented. I do think that technology will one day make them obsolete (killing will no longer be useful/profitable). I'm betting that hardly anyone wants to be the main course on the menu.
Once we solve the physical/real world problems, we can tackle the superstitions that have dragged us down for millennia.
I'll give it a rest here for a year or so before I visit again.
Dave, that’s like saying that fine ‘64 409 Impala of yours is for “”transportation”." the function of a gun is to kill"
Really?????
I've fired 10's of thousands of rounds in my Benchrest rifles. Killed lots of paper.
And 5 flies.....thouroghly a deadly killing machine.
That's why I keep them locked in the safe.

That's good haha, I haven't heard that one"When I die, I hope my wife doesn't sell all my stuff for what I told her I paid for it."

Not sure why you chose to post this on a New Member thread from 4 years ago from someone who hasn't been on in 6+ months.I have tried to keep interested in guns-reloading-shooting, but I must confess it is nearly all about the social impact of guns that concerns me now.
