USAF Shooting Team
Silver $$ Contributor
Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd make an introduction. I've been lurking on the forums for a while and finally decided to join. My name is Ryan and I live in Hatton ND (about 35 miles SW of Grand Forks). I mainly shoot high power service rifle along with mid/long range, Palma, pistol, vintage, and smallbore. I'm active duty USAF and will be competing with the Air Force's rifle team this season. From reading posts on here it looks like ND is well represented here.

Hello Ryan! Welcome to the forum! Since you’be been lurking, I don’t have to warn you about who to watch out for.;) You can learn some good stuff here and have a little fun doing it! I’m just an old guy that needed a hobby to fill the time. I don’t compete but I learned a lot here and I shoot ok. Better because of the fine guys here giving me pointers. Again, welcome!
Josh

One post and I don’t care for you already. Air Force beat us, Army, out at Camp Perry. I’m so old I don’t remember what year that was. Or maybe I’m still in denial.

Please change your post to read Army rifle team and we will get a long fine.. lol..
Welcome aboard, From Big Sky country..

Welcome to the forum Ryan and thank you for your service to our country, If you were ever to change your post go USMC......LOL

Welcome from a retired AF guy. Shot with the AF team in the early 80s. Poor support for the team as compared to the other services back then. Hope that has improved. Seems the Air Guard puts more $ towards it than the active duty teams.

Loving the inter-service rivalry. Don't worry, the AMU seems to rule the roost right now in Highpower. I'll make sure to keep the board updated. I'll be heading out next week for the Orange Blossom Regional. Unfortunately, Perry will probably be the only other match I travel to (which is a bonus as I grew up two hours up the road in MI) unless we get some funding.

I’m about 20 miles NE of you.

I’m guessing you’re aware of the Forks Rifle Club?

Welcome.
Yup, I practically live there.

Yeah, we unfortunately don't get much. I think the quote I've seen from a few years ago was the AMU spends 6x as much as the AF on their team. We are fortunate the team is paying for our lodging at OBR.

Welcome to the forum. As you can tell this is a great group. I am also from ND, just outside of Fargo. I know the local Fclass and LR Prone crowd very well. Plenty cross over to SB, Air Rifle and XTC, so you will be in good company. PM me and I can get you in touch with the right people. Drew

Drew we've met at a few matches. I won the six point leg in Bismark back in August.
