New Member Barrel Maker

Hello Accurate Shooter Forum, my name is Shawn you may have seen our ad for Hawk Hill Custom cut rifled barrels. I just wanted to introduce myself and the shop, I started building rifles in 97' as a hobby then bought barrel making equipment in 2010, after some learning curve we started selling barrels in 2012. We make all stainless cut rifled barrels. right now lead times are reasonable at 6-8 weeks.
My personal favorite caliber is the 6.5x47 as that is what I shoot in competition, 38gr Varget and 130vld extremely accurate and deadly, used it in Wyoming to take an antelope and 2 days later a nice muley in Utah then a win at the PNTC precision rifle match but I probably won't carry the sniper rifle it in the mountains again going to need to build something lighter, my first time out west as a 40 something, lighter faster stronger is no longer in my description. Anyway looking forward to the forum and getting to know you all.

Well, welcome to you! I am glad you are a barrel maker. There has been some angst on here over the L-O-N-G waits foisted upon wanting shooters by overworked barrel makers... Another only helps alleviate the problem! I hope you do well and that this forum is a great source of help! So dive in and be heard!

I actually saved your website in bookmarks. Might have to give one of your barrels a try some day. Good to have you on board and wish you the best with your business venture. :)

I would like to learn more about the process you do to make your barrels? What kind of steel is your barrels made with? Are these barrels cryo treated in anyway?

Ray- We first drill the blanks then rough contour, ream the bore, lap the bore, rifle the blank, then finish contour and lap again, then finish grind and ship. we use all Certified 416R Stainless Steel in our barrels. we do not cryo, we get the steel double stress relieved and impart no stress to the steel in our manufacturing process. Thanks for asking

It's called the FALKON, also at the top it says

"The following Rifle Packages are available as custom built rifles
but serve as a starting point only. We offer many custom options.
Rifles can be built on our custom actions or customer supplied action."

But no other details on the action or stand alone price.
