New Kick-Eez Very Sticky

I got a new Kick-Eez grind to fit recoil pad. Right out of the box it is extremely tacky and sticky. Seems to me it's not going to grind well. Is this the way these things are?

I grind them soaked in WD40, helps it cut much better. Makes a god awful mess, but grinds nicely that way. A bit of furniture polish after to clean it up and make it look black again.

Lube helps w/ grinding, armor all or furniture polish with lemon oil works well . I have also used John Deere tire preservative to keep them soft but not sticky afterwards.

Also, coarse belts work best with the soft ones. I just did one with 36 grit to rough it out, ended up finishing with it because it cut so clean.

I have heard Kick-eez pads referred to as a POS. If that means what I think it does, I concur. This is why it is so sticky! WH
