I have no idea. No name or marking.it’s interesting but doesn’t do anything spectacular. That looks to be the Harrells
Hey Alex...tell me about the clamp. I've been looking for that style. Thanks! My favorite press is the Charlie Hood Br combo press. It gives me the best bump numbers of any press I have used. Theres now a single ram version available. Saves you a little money and space. I always used a seperate arbor press so I like this one. Arkco machine is making these. FYIView attachment 1512396
The original one is quite distinctive. Most I’ve seen are black or blue. Arkco machine (sp?) has the rights to sell Hood’s original design from what I’ve been told.I have what may be a Hood.
No name no paint

I was told there was a conflict over the design maybe involving a patent. Some type of disagreement between designers.
Might be a prototype or maybe a fabulous knock off.
Tried to post a pic but it says it’s too large.
I really never used it.
I was able to successfully post a picture of what I have. I’m just interested in what make, if any, it actually is.The original one is quite distinctive. Most I’ve seen are black or blue. Arkco machine (sp?) has the rights to sell Hood’s original design from what I’ve been told.

They are definitely better for many things than your typical C-Clamp. I have a bunch of them. Years ago during one of the financial crises MSC had really cheap package deals with multiple sizes together and I kept buying them as the budget allowed. The little guys are pretty useful holding small parts when welding or in the mill. You can probably tell I’m a fanKant Twist is the brand
You have a Harrell’s . It’s a copy cat knock off of the Hood Press.I was able to successfully post a picture of what I have. I’m just interested in what make, if any, it actually is.
I tried it a few times, sure it works, but I found it really didn’t do anything remarkable at all.
To me, a press, regardless of make has little to do with accuracy. I strictly shoot 100 yard BR, and have many mounted presses.
How the die is adjusted is far more relative for accuracy, than the press that’s used.
And of course many other factors of which the actual press is far down, if not at the bottom of the list.
However I’ll add I’m infatuated with hand tools, and well made ones in particular. I have 7 presses mounted on my two reloading benches. I guess there’s worse things to be hooked on!
Hi Alex just curious if you feel the same way about the Harrel's Combi press? My favorite press is the Charlie Hood Br combo press. It gives me the best bump numbers of any press I have used. They are not the same quality as the original Hood or the Arkco made Hood.Hi Alex just curious if you feel the same way about the Harrel's Combi press?
Thank you
Dont we both wishLooks really solid, great for sizing brass at the gun range, does it take the large diameter dies like Warner 1.250" ?
Dont we both wish
Just wondering how you determined this. They are not the same quality as the original Hood or the Arkco made Hood.
I’m not Alex, but I have had all three. The original Hoods and Matt’s is just a cut above.Just wondering how you determined this.
Did you have all 3 presses.
Makes no difference to me I have one (Harrell?) and don’t use it, but I only have the one and wonder what’s inferior to the other two? If it’s the same Harrell that makes dies I’ve been pleased with them. Maybe a different company. And I’m surely not looking for another press!
( well maybe, if I could find an original Hollywood Gun Shop Senior, I’d buy that. Really difficult to find their original made one though before they were sold a couple of times and the quality went down each time). And yes I had one to compare the follow ups to.
Thanks. That’s the way to make a determination.I’m not Alex, but I have had all three. The original Hoods and Matt’s is just a cut above.
