New Hodgdon Shotgun Powders

Has anyone tried the 2 new powders from Hodgdon? I was wondering which would be better for trap loads. The powders are called High Gun and Perfect Pattern. I currently use Accurate Nitro 100 NF in Win AA shells and Cheddite primers and CB3118 wads. Have been using this combo for about 5 years but that powder is unavailable.

That's the first I've heard of those powders, I went with Titewad when I couldn't get Green Dot. I like Green Dot I guess, wish I didn't run out. I'm getting by.

I will probably try them when they show up locally. Don't shoot that much trap. 10 rounds league and a bunch of practice. No marathons or such.

What improvements are they claiming. I've burned a fair amount clays, wst, and all the "dots". I really don't have any complaints about any of them.

I'd guess the primary "improvements" are probably related to regulatory compliance for hazardous substances (I.E. the manufacturing process no longer includes banned chemicals).

There might be "cleaner burning" improvements in there too.

New powder? They can’t keep up with the old powders.
An “improvement” would be a decent supply.
I keep making this post, but here goes again:

You're a powder manufacturer, demand is through the roof, to make more you need to make capital investments (not just run the existing equipment more, because it's already running 24/7) in new equipment, new lines, etc...

Do you?

A) Buy more of the same, old, maybe-no-longer-even-made-equipment to make more of the same old, soon-to-be-obsolete, soon-to-be-regulatorily-restricted, uses-soon-to-be-banned/restricted/more-expensive chemicals, same old powder.

or

B) Buy new equipment to make new powders that not only meet new regulatory requirements but can also meet customer demand for <insert hot new propellant property like temp insensitivity, copper fouling reduction etc... here>.

I'm pretty sure I know which I'd choose.

Don’t get me wrong gents, I am a Hodgdon fan and support them as much as I can and they are a few minutes from my house.
As a good friend of mine says, “they created a monster, now they can’t seem to feed it” .

Hodgdon is a major powder rebrander in case you weren't aware. Lots of their product is made by ADI in Aussie and where their powder equivalent chart lists a Hodgdon alongside theirs it can be taken as an exact equivalent.

I'm well aware. I never mentioned Hodgdon in my post. The powder is, presumably, made by General Dynamics (there's a made in the USA label on the bottle, so St. Marks, since it's a ball powder).
