New Guy on the Block

I would like to introduce myself. I am A. J. Palik from Gainesville Va. I am not new to the shooting sports. I started shooting about age 6 and I am now 73. Most of my shooting in the past 10 years or so has been with the Cast Bullet assoc. 6.5x55 Mauser is my latest toy as is a Chilean 1895 7x57 Mauser. I also have 5 different 32-40s, several 22's and a few other calibers.
I mostly will sit in the background in the forums reading and learning and sometimes I will find something to peak my interest in the for sale section.

Welcome!! I have a thing for old Mausers. The Swedes are my favorites.
Which Swede do you have?

Welcome. Forum boss runs a tight ship here and that contributes to the best site on the net. I'm in the background as well as I don't have a lot to offer so I soak up the knowledge of these guys.

My Swedish Mauser is a 1896 made in 1923. Less than 5000 made in this year. The condition is about 95% and I don't think it was ever issued. It was shot as there was traces of copper jacket smear about 3" from the muzzle. My eyes are getting old so I put a NO DRILL SCOPE MOUNT on it with a 6 power Weaver scope. I'm still playing with the loads but my favorite powder for cast bullets is IMR 4227. I have several NOE bullet molds for this rifle in 6.5x55.

Nice. I have a 96, a 38 and a CG 63 that I shoot jacketed bullets in. The 38 is scoped for my old eyes.

Welcome from another cast bullet shooter, though not near what it was 25 years ago. I got back onto the Varmint rifle scene, I had a need for speed.
Have a Swede 96 myself, along with other various milsurps that have digested tons of lead and lots of SR4759.
I stepped into the 17 and 20 caliber puddle, that I am neck deep in now. PCP air guns have sparked my interest as of late
