New Garmin attached directly to rifle?

I’ll be curious to see what happens using the Garmin with other shooters on either side of me. So far I’ve run it without anyone else present shooting along side of me.
I’ve had multiple trips to my local range over the past month with this thing. It has never missed a shot or picked up a shot that wasn’t mine. I have shot between other shooters on multiple visits. It’s a non-issue.

I was at a long range match a few weeks back. There was a fellow that had a Garmin unit mounted on to his bipod. It seemed to be working well for him.

At our club's 22LR match yesterday I shot all six distances with the Garmin attached to my rifle via the Area419 mount attached to ARCA rail. There was a shooter immediately to my left and we shot different distances at the same time. At one point, the way the targets are set, he was shooting the 75 yard targets while I shot the 50 yard targets and at no time did I ever pick up any of his shots, nor any shots from the other five competitors on the line.
Lapua specs for Long Range are 1106FPS with a .172 G1. Using Lapua Ballistic App I was visually dead on from first shot at ever distance from 50-200 yards (with slight correction for angle to the targets).
My estimation is that the widest swing from far right to left for the different distances is near 60 yards.
I didn't get any pics from the actual match but did take a quick pic of my setup before loading the truck.
Also, a pdf of data for one distance as a sample.

I have a simple question about all radar style chrono’s. Does the distance away horizontally change the readings or does it compensate for that? I used to mount a camera to a rifle it eventually destroyed it. But I think if you have solid state tech. imbedded in a high quality resin it should hold up for a long time. Otherwise I don’t think rockets would make home to often.

Ok, So does that mean its fine to attach to a rifle and there is no problem for the reliability of the Garmin?

Nope.

I keep reading these threads and it looks like people are trying to invent problems where there aren't any. I would not bolt it to the side of the rifle if it's not designed to do that. I was simply saying that they're already making mounts to do it.

I can understand people wanting to attach it to there rifle if there running and gunning and want to record all there shots without having to move the unit to different positions. I see no other reason to do that. I don't do that kind of shooting and think attaching it to the rifle could be asking for trouble from a reliability standpoint down the road.
I wonder what Garmin's take is on this?

My findings also. The benches at our gun club are pretty close together and the Xero only picked up my shots. Tomorrow, if the wind settles down I plan on going out to do a final adjustment on my 243AI. While I am there, with the shooter's permission I plan on moving the Xero toward him until the Xero picks up his bullet.
