New FTR shooter scope/ ring ?

Turtle, while I generally look down on F class shooters, being a Palma shooter (just kidding!) I wanted to let you know that on Tuesdays at Sacramento Valley they have a practice day. I work, so I never get to go, but, I understand that as long as some members are there they will let you shoot. Be there at 715am.
On Saturday January 11th, we have a Palma (8,9,1000) Club match, and on Sunday we have a 3x1000 match. Be up at the 1000 yard parking lot at 715am. That would be a good day to play around with loads at 1k since it’s likely to be calm in the morning relays.
Sacto is a good place to shoot as we have lots of very accomplished F class shooters who are very willing to help, show you gear, and talk about what is best to try/buy. Even us knuckle dragging sling shooters can be helpful. Come shoot with us in January so you can get good zeros for BSWN. A bunch of us from Sacto will be shooting in them too.

I 'm not turtle , sorry for the confusion , I was thanking turbulent turtle for his advice , but I will definitely make those dates ,

I need some help with dope beyond the 600 yard line and a spotter or a big ass target like F class to help me get my FTR dope , I have been shooting myself and it's a pain in the butt to assess where things are going when shooting at swingers at distance by yourself , very frustrating and expensive .

Just got back from shooting and got some better data on drops for my 2 loads and now I can see why you recommend using 1 load and get to know it very well , KISS , the 190 load is a little slower than my 2575 prediction as per today's shooting , probably more like 2530 or 2540 and the 175 load was slower than anticipated , probably 2630 as per JBM and my actual drops from the shoot , which sounds more reasonable , really just need to show up and shoot at a F class target and a pit man marking impacts , all this going back and forth is for the birds ! Think my time is better spent on making good loads .

Thank you for the heads up on Sac Valley

308 shooter, if you come to Sacto with a solid 300 zero we can get you on paper with the first shot or two usually. If you come up about 24 minutes from a 300 you should be in the black at 800. Then it’s about 6 minutes to 900, and another 6 to 1000.
Now I am not sure about a 190g bullet, maybe you need a little less, but, not that much less I am guessing. My 308 Palma load uses 155’s and that is my dope.

Oh, and just tell your score keeper that you need help with getting on paper. At a Palma, you get unlimited sighter shots. And, at 800, the target is big you should have no problem. It’s not as hard as it looks. Reading the wind is more difficult and the only way to lear is to do it, ask questions, and practice. I still look at the flags at 1000 some days and say, “crap, I have no idea what I need.” But, you put something on the gun and shoot. After a while, you get a sense of what it’s worth. Take notes. Make sure you write your zeros down. And, if you find in no wind you have to come right or left on your windage, write that down or fix the scope.

Thank you Michael , appreciate the encouragement and you bet , I will be there , have waited along 2 years salivating about returning to shooting from time in Italy , no guns for us mortals over there , have shot 600 at Bountiful Utah with a Great guy who was showing me the ropes and just as I started to get the hang of thing's , a change in life's directions sent me packing away my goods and putting it on hold , which was OK , but man it's good to be back in the Great USA where us Blue collar guy's can play along side the Whales of the world ( the have's ) Looking forward to it .
