New friend

Yes, she's a chocolate lab. Claire is short for Chocolate Eclair.

The one I pick up in a few weeks will be Reese, short for Reese's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.

It wasn't until a couple days after picking names that I realized there's a connection to Silence of the Lambs. Gonna have to practice my Hannibal voice.
We had a chocolate lab a few doors down called "Biscuit". As in "Chocolate Biscuit". Sadly, she's now in the great kennel in the sky now.

Phideoux came from a breeder in Willis,Tx where did Clair the Cutie come from?

I actually found Claire on Craigslist. They had a litter of six, with two females. The other female was silver, but I fell in love with Claire's pic before I saw them in person.

Reese will be coming from 3D Retrievers in Conroe. Her whole litter is chocolate.

She's beautiful; love here and enjoy.

Had my little hound to the vet today for some tests and while he was inside (they're still operating on corona virus procedures), I noticed that the pickup a few spaces up, with a cap on the bed, would get a puppy returned to it and put back in the back of the truck, and the puppy on the ground at the water dish they had put out would be taken inside and another one removed from the back of the truck and put down to drink and romp by the water dish. After witnessing this exchange about three times I went up to see what was going on.

It seems that the young couple with the truck and the water dish raised Australian Shepperds and their 2 females had each had a litter 4 days apart, and not 4 or 5 puppies each, either - one had 12 pups and the other, 11!! For the next 15 minutes I hung out with the 21 puppies in the back of the truck and the one on the ground while we waited for the one inside to come back from getting it's shots and the one on the ground to head inside. I have never seen such a well fed, happy, affectionate and curious gang of few weeks old little guys and gals in the back of one truck in my whole life. Made my day a bit brighter.

Puppy overload! Sounds better than the waiting room.

Gotta wonder what their vet bill totaled...

I see you have a theme going on there!

She is beautiful and has a good alert look to her, will be a great one to train for what ever your intentions are. Congratulations.

I lost my best friend about 6 weeks ago. He rode in my lap when we brought him home from Alabama. He was an 80 lb black mouthed cur that loved every thing and every body. When I tore up my knee and had surgery and a year later back surgery he would not leave my side. He died unexpected and I had no idea it would hurt me this bad. I don't think I could find another near as good and will not go through this much pain again. I am glad you found one so sweet and cute, but I am through with dogs I can't do it again.

I love dogs. Been wanting a chocolate lab or a german shepherd but i just cant seem to justify paying a $1000 + Canadian for a pup. maybe someday.

Yep, saw a chocolate GSP/Lab mix. She would have been Cake, short for German Chocolate Cake.

Way better than the waiting room, for sure! I was wondering what the vet bill would be for puppy shots, too - it had to be significant, even if they get a quantity discount :)

It took great self control not to put a reserve on one to bring home, as my little hound got on fine with them.

Just realized that I had not posted a pic of Reese. It's been a couple months of house training(sleep deprivation).

She's the lighter colored one, and that's a current pic of Claire in back.

Those two look like trouble....just trying to figure out where to strike next! Beauties, for sure.....enjoy them
