THANKS TO ALL FOR SUPPORTING THE SHOOTING SPORTS, HERE, THERE & EVERYWHERE!!!!!

*Club Record was 450-30X set by Greg Shangraw 8/09.

"National Record FO Class under Rule (3.4(a)) [60] Individual High Power Rifle 15 rds. @ 300 yds. as of 10/10/10 was 150-11X.

*** National Record F/TR under Rule (3.4(b)) [61] Individual High Power Rifle 15 rds. @ 300 yds. as of 10/10/10 was 150- 7X.

Ron,

Individual as there is no Agg. for 15 rds. X 3 @ 300yds., the Mid-Range Course Agg. is 15 rds. @ 300, 500 & 600 yds., there may even be a 20 rd. Course of Fire, we are under High Power Rules, not Fullbore, I never searched it as we only go tho 300 on this side of the pond (Lake Champlain). The VT Guard Base at Ethan Allen (Underhill/Jericho, VT) gets all the 600 + yd. use, and hold 300, 500, 600 yd. Prone & F-Class Tournaments.

This is a Walk & Paste Format, so it's not as easy as it seems, 5 Sighters in 7 mins. Paste, and then 3 Matches of 15 rds. in 15 mins. each with only Target scoring (by the shooter on your left) and a change of the Target face in between, no other sighters.

Ruth added to her collection of 7 Records with me shooting my best when it counted.

mike,

so as i understand your reply, each 300 yd match was individually registered with the NRA! - each match was a TOTALLY stand alone match. 3 registered matches made up your agg.?

the reason i'm asking is follks are under the impression that they can set records [national] when only the 'whole day's 'match' [read agg.] is registered.

Ron,

Each 15 rd. Match shot that day at the NRA Registered Tournament is it's own stand alone Match per the Match Program, (I think it's here in the Comp. section) again there is NO Agg. score for 3 Matches at 300 yds. in High Power Individual F-Open, F/TR, SR,etc.......Records are for the COUSRE OF FIRE outlined in the Rule book and are not only shot as an Agg. to be a Match.

The Match Program:

If your thinking were correct then the Nationals would not have any Records shot in them as it is many Matches over many days and distances with the same paper work sent in for a 1 day Tournament with multiple Matches.

The Club must be doing something right as tallgun got his finally posted from The Adirondack Mid-Range Championship in July as a Grand Senior.

thanks mike - as i mentioned, in the near past there were folks that were really disappointed when records could not be recorded because to 'paper work' errors or omissions.

the shooters did great - no doubt - and the credit should go to them - not be built up to be crushed by errors.

Yeah, I've seen it also, bad paperwork, vacation for the winter after the Match, no back up paper work, equals NO RECORDS.

I've been competing for close to 38 yrs. in NRA Approved and or Registered Tournaments and can only remember a hand full of times that I shot for Agg. as a Match, other than than when it was spelled out as such: Match 5, the Total Agg. of Matches #1 OH, #2 RS , #3 RP, #4 SP, which gives the Competitor the chance to shine at thier best, say in Off Hand and get a Medal.

I think once that Clubs start taking more interest in NRA Tournaments more will use the Registered Program, if thier Club is equiped and manned to do so. All the Tournaments at Peru for the 2011 Season have been summitted for Registering as the competitors have been knocking off Records right and left with nothing to show for it. One has even went as far a shooting a "clean X clean" at 600 yds. at an Approved Match, 200-20X, 200-20X, 200-20X, 600-60X, There could of been a higher X count as all his sighters where X's, and he only took the 20 shots for Record per Match. He won the Agg. and got a lot of "Great shooting" back pats afterwards, but no record.

MIKE, FROM THE SHOOTER'S SIDE OF THE HOUSE - THANKS A BUNCH for all the care and concern for the shooting sport - and THE SHOOTERS.

are you or any of your 'gang' going out PHOENIX for the SWLRN at the end of JAN. '11?

I won't make it, too many responsabilites here on the homefront in the winter. Some of the Green Mountain Boys & girls may go...........I know they headed to Butner this weekend and are planning on a trip to Lodi for the Nationals in '11.
