Jeff. I live in Maine via Massachusetts. I shoot IBS short range score. That's what's big up in New England is SR score. Three ranges in Maine that we have many matches at Damariscotta, Augusta, and Orrington. We also shoot at Bell City in Southington, CT (2 day match this coming weekend) and also St Johnsbury , VT. Some of us also shoot where benchrest shooting all started in Johnstown, NY. Also some of us travel down south once in a while. I'm pretty sure that there are 93 IBS short range score matches this year, so if you want to travel, you can shoot a match just about every weekend until the season is over.

Bring your rifle or use a couple of mine. The 1st match is FREE of charge!
I also shoot monthly down at the Country Pond F&G in Newton, NH.
There's a bunch of IBS sr in NE as well in ME, VT, & CT.

Keith

I plan on shooting a few at country pond. I dont have a super accurate 22 but a decent one.

I wanted to go to one on Agusta but was unable to make it. Some point I will make one.

The next one at Country Pond is 5/27. There are also IR50 matches in Augusta. You can see the IR50 schedule here

Don't worry about the rifle. As I said, shoot your own or borrow some of our equipment. Just give me a heads up & I'll bring it. I have an extra rest, flags, rifles, etc.
Heck, I'll even provide lunch! We're having trouble getting people interested & could use the support.

Thanks. weekends are full with fclass and a few PRM matches. I have all the shoots at country pond and Darmascotia and Agusta. if a weekend frees up for some reason or there is a shoot once the fclass shoots slow down I will be there.

I'm still trying to short out what happened and how I got here. (simple answer is there is a woman involved)

As someone who shot long range F class almost exclusively since about 2011 this is different. There is a lot of mid range shooting but long range and the rather long off season takes some adaptation, but I'm working on it.

Gerry M Here from syracuse ny area.
I shoot at Camillus sportsmens club
we have short range benchrest high power and ir 50/50
Camillus hosts the New york state championship IBS match and pro Am

What about F Class in New England?
In the NE area there is a lot of mid range shooting. You can shoot F class at least once or twice a month with matches in NH, VT, and ME. There are also matches in MA, but you run the risk of ending up with a felony charge for having a firearm if you go there with out a MA license. There are too many other opportunities to shoot to 600 yards to bother if you don't live in MA (that is my opinion, not shared by all)

Long range you are pretty much fracked.
  • Forbes in Colonie, NY holds 4 long range matches a yr. They are about 3 - 5 hours from most locations
  • Connaught range in Ottawa holds several matches a yr including the Canadian Nationals. That's 6 hours for me.
  • This yr the Canadian East Regional is in Gagetown, NB. That's 8 hours for me.
  • Bridgeville, DE does some long range, it's 8 hours+ (you have to get past NYC and northern NJ and there is traffic there even at 3AM)
  • Reade Range in PA is about 8 hours away.

That's it. Colonie is the only place to shoot that doesn't require a motel and a late night trip home on Sunday.

I live near Rochester,NY and shoot .22 target guns and srbr for fun. I also play with sporters of many calibers.

thanks everyone. i will be skipping out on the Maine shooting. i have shot Connaught at the Worlds. i will probably be staging out of northern New Hampshire in August, September, and October. back in south Florida the rest of the year.
