Phil, I have been keeping up with the threads on the new 115 DTAC. Good information is rolling in, it is an improvement on the old ones. I have been shooting the DTAC since the beginning, and will continue to do so. I like what I've read, especially from Tubb's.
What do you get out of a long dasher that a dasher doesn't provide?I see a Long Dasher in my future with these bullets. By the way the Long Dasher is a wildcat formed from the 6.5x47, not the new bullets.com stuff from Norma.
About another 300fps. And similar accuracy. What do you get out of a long dasher that a dasher doesn't provide?

WOW!!! That equals the 105s at 3400+fps, it has to be fun.About another 300fps. And similar accuracy.

Come on by and you can take look at my 6x47 Imp through my Hawkeye. I'm not talking speculation, I'm talking from first hand expierence. 30, 40 or 90 degree shoulder, it doesn't matter, you push this thing hard and the barrel will go away, fast. But by all means if you don't believe me, build one. You can push new DTAC's at around 3200 with 4350 or RL17, for a while anyways.Whats lost is the low recoil when you switch to a 6.5-284. Also I would see these as having identical barrel life, if not a little longer with the Long Dasher because of the 40d shoulder.

We are talking about 6mm bullets. Not 6.5mmHow would the recoil be less if both are launching the same projectile at the same velocity?
This is not true. The 1000 yard BR guys build everything available looking for an edge. They have shown up with a lot of 6x47 and every one has disappeared off the firing line. The Dasher just plain outshoots it. Now a few 6.5x47's have shot real well. These are facts coming from a club that shoots 80 plus light guns and 60 heavy guns every other week. Go to 600 yard IBS Nationals or 1000 yard Nationals and look at the equipment lists. I am not saying a 6x47 is terrible but they don't out shoot Dashers in proven competition. I wpuld never say the 6x47 is as accurate as the dasher. It plainly is not. This is not true. The 1000 yard BR guys build everything available looking for an edge. They don't share the same parent cases. The Long Dasher's parent case is a 6.5x47 and the Dasher a 6BR. Don't let the names confuse you, they are very different critters that just share a common shoulder angle and base diameter.I wpuld never say the 6x47 is as accurate as the dasher. It plainly is not.
Now the Long dasher however is a doferent storry. It has the same wide accuracy nodes as its parent but bring extra performance.

If it were as accurate, Matt and a whole bunch of other BR guys here would be all over it. Now for F/High Power, PRS and other diciplines that don't require the absolute in accuracy, I think it could be an excellent cartridge at reasonable velocities. DTAC's up to 3100 and 105-107 up to 3200 maybe slightly more. That's pretty incredible ballistics from a 6mm, especially from a case smaller than a 243. It's right in line with a 284 shooting 180's. That's nothing to sneeze at.
I reccomend you build one. The "Long Dasher" is basicly an AI type with the same neck/shoulder as the parent 6x47L and there are several more improved versions with the original short Dasher neck and the shoulder blown forward which is what I shoot.
