Hey dtucker. Have you ever listened to the Easy Star AllStars and their CD "Dub Side of the Moon"? I also have two step sons that are dtucker - Dan Tucker and David Tucker.
Just curious. Anybody know what the thread size and pitch are? I also wonder what the thread size and pitch are for Savages. And are there any custom actions that use the same? In other words, is there a custom action that would accept a Savage Pre-Fit barrel?

Shilen rifles do use a barrel nut but I would check with them to make sure of the thread, etc. on the action. I think they are using Remington clone actions so a Savage pre-fit won't work.

Boyd Allen just sent me a message. He checked with Shilen. They are using the Savage thread setup on their actions. Here is a quote from the Shilen web site: "The barrels feature a 1-1/16" - 20 barrel thread and are attached to the action by a barrel nut."
That makes the Shilen actions take large shank Savage barrels.

Never have listened to that. Pink Floyd is 1 of my all time favorite and boy did i do some partyin to them 30 years ago.
I am sure the savage barrel is not going to work on it. I checked their web page out and it is so new that their is not even a listing on it or any technical info. I believe it will be called the Deviant.

Looks like a Surgeon to me. I don't see anything groundbreaking, but it is still a nice looking action.

Yea, nothing ground breaking really. I am just glad to see that they are going to offer the rail and lug built in to the receiver as some others due. They are one of my favorite actions out their. I have used just about everyone out their for builds and go back to the Defiance as they have great standard features that come on the action, super people to deal with and the options are countless. They have always bent over backwards to make me happy. I like switch barrel rifles and have been a fan of at least having the lug as part of the receiver and not having a lug between the barrel and face of receiver. As far as having a built in rail, it can go either way with me.

If i remember right he said about 3 months. I also ordered their DBM that was designed by Mike Bush who built a couple rifles for me a couple years back. Super guy and cannot say enough good about him and his builds. Mike also was working with them to and it seems they parted ways. So the DBM,s that are of his design that they carry are being sold off half price. ;D I bought 2, just could not resist. They action will have the small minor cut to use the DBM. They use either the AI or AW mags. Which ever 1 you want to use. Calling Manners Monday and getting the stock going so i will have everything flowing in and ready at about the same time to be built. Switch barrel baby....... in the works. ;D
