I am new to this forum and also new to 22 rimfire BR. I just purchased a CZ 455 Tacticool in 22 LR with the Boyd tactical stock. So far I like it a lot. I shot it for first time today and was really impressed. I'm trying to find what brand 22LR it likes, so far the ELEY Scout is working great, also had some old S&W Match 22LR and it loved them. They are just about impossible to find anymore. Will post some picks when I get it shooting good.
So, I started working on doing some bedding and accuracy work on it and when I pulled the action I was surprised to find no front lug on the action/barrel. I have two Savage 22LRs and they both have front lugs. So, I used pillar bedding in the front and rear to stiffen it up a little. The Boyd stock was easy to work with and the pillars went in with no trouble. I also went ahead and bedded the back of the action, since there was a fairly big gap between the stock and action. If nothing else, it made it look better. I replaced the factory stock action screws, since they were woefully short, with only about 1/8" of threads holding everything together. The yodave spring swap was simple, but had a lot of initial bump fires, so I had to experiment with the shims. I went ahead and went to 1# on the trigger, it seemed fine when shooting and Im happy with the safety factor. I couldn't make it bump fire with a rubber mallet and didnt have any problems at the range today. The T-36 Weaver is working great and I almost shot a fly that was crawling on the target, LOL. For the money this scope is every bit as clear as my Leopold Competition BR scope, for 1/3 the money.
I will keep everyone posted as the progress of the CZ and me. Ive got a lot to learn about wind and reading flags, etc.
thanks ron
