New cz 527 varmint

Hi I just got a CZ 527 varmint thomehole in .223 rem i think its a 9twist new Lapua brass Leopold vxiii 6.5-20x40 I'm going to order rings and load some ammo today for it a new ground hog gun to play with!

Great choice! I have a Kevlar .204; will probably be the last rifle I keep.

6.5 x 20,??? man way to much scope for groundhogs, but great for targets. Try the 55 gr. Varmint Night Mares from Mid South. Not match bullets, but real cheap and my first group with them was .690 through an AR with a 9 twist. Great groundhog bullet and they will stay in a large groundhog. AA 2300, Hodgens BLC2, H322, or 335 is the burn rate powder you are looking for.

No such thing as too much scope on a varmint gun, unless of course they are really close you

I have the 527 varmint Kevlar in 223 and really like it. Shoots great and well made. No reason to get rid of a rifle like that! I'm shooting 50 gr vmax over 27.6 gr of CFE223, fed 205m primers. Shoots 1/2" at 100 yds all day long.

I have had several 527 rifles and still have them
. I shoot a fair amount in the field and I prefer shooting at lower powers in my scopes in the field and the higher powers at the range. Blooded my newest 527 custom stocked 22 hornet yesterday. It wears a nice little 3-9 Nikon Pro staff scope and the loa was the 45gr hornady bullet. FS
