New chassis

I have a new chassis from one of the popular vendors. I purchased it new a while ago assembling parts for this build. I was getting ready to start fitting things together and I set the action in and started snugging the screws. Well the action sort of rocks a bit with one screw snug and tighten and loosen the other screw. I have always used this as a test when bedding a rifle but the chassis doesn't get bedded. I set an email but are these aluminum block bedding chassis different.

I've used a State Arms Eliminator 700 chassis, several PDC Custom chassis' and several bedding blocks for Barnard actions and even the akeleton chassis under an Accuracy International AICS. All had been solid.

Perhaps see if any part of your trigger is hitting
(Aftermarket Trigger?)
Take your trigger out and see if it dont do that anymore, then you'll know

I had the same exact thing happen once with a bedded stock when I swapped a different trigger in
could not for the life of me figure out why it suddenly didnt want to go back into the stock the same way

my trigger had little tiny button head screws that protruded just enough to interfere

also make sure the bottom of your recoil lug isnt touching

I put the action in two others both with aluminum blocks both solid I'm a little depressed about this I was really excited about the new chassis.

Put it in my hunting rifle it's just pillar bedded, solid.

If you have a side bolt release, is your bolt release hitting on the upper side of the chassis? I had this with a 700 clone in a 700 compatible chassis. Had to relieve it a bit.

I’ve built two Tikkas in Bravo chassis, a Kauger in an MTD ACC, and a Borden in an ACC Elite. Using a dial indicator as shown in the pic, all 4 would show movement (tens of thousandths) as one action screw was loosened. After bedding each of them that movement was reduced to 1 thousandths or less.

Maybe this bedding step is unnecessary, depending on expectations. I read that many PRS shooters don’t bother to bed their actions into chassis. Maybe because of resale value(?).

Perhaps I’ve been lucky, but mine have been shooting really well. I don’t have any group data on them w/o being bedded. I can’t report on one of the Tikka’s because it hasn’t received any range time yet.

There are two screws that hold the bolt release one is above the edge of the chassis but it might be the lower one.

That was it. It's basically a set screw but it just hangs out a slight amount. At least I don't have to fuss with the manufacturer, I already emailed them back and told them problem solved.
