New Cerakote

Not for guns, but for autos. My 2008 car and truck have lived outside their entire lives, and the black plastic trim has suffered accordingly in the NC sun. While a number of specialty treatments restore the nice shine, the durability is only on the order of a couple of weeks max. Cerakote offers wet cloths containing a ceramic compound, and since ceramic polish has performed great on the paint I gave the Cerakote a try. It still looks great after a couple of months, clearly more durable than the cheaper options. If you like purdy black plastic trim, give it a try.

When you apply it have a sharpened popsicle stick or something similar to work the cloth close to edges and into corners.

I wonder if this will work on smooth, shiny plastic, like the rear corner moldings on my tahoe. I’ve been trying to find new ones and its nearly impossible.

Painted? If so buff it with a good compound such as McGuire's until shiney, then protect with something such as Turtle Wax Seal an Shine which is an easy to use ceramic protectant.

Steve, Had you tried it? Has telling Jon about it he is scared to try it
Phil, I have not tried it but after reading the product details I would not use anything else. It is guaranteed for as long as you have the vehicle. That shows they have a lot of confidence in it. It is the same steps as other products just a better product.

Cool, I will tell Jon that you said he was a wimp lol. That was my thought I tried to convince him it was good stuff. Thanks and sorry to derail
