New Caldwell VelociRadar Chronograph

Apparently they are sending 100pcs out around the country for field testing, sometime in Feb. I'd wait and see what the reviews are on it, sure there will be threads and vids on it. It better work the way they want, they've been working on it long enough.

After the extensive reviews on the Garmin Xero C1, I would just go Garmin.
This, of course, is just my opinion.

I like my Garmin but for the price it's a little outdated in the technology department.
I mean, sure it works, but is it outdated already?

Ignoring Moore's law, it's a miracle Labradar lasted this long. It'll be interesting to see if Garmin follows suit.

Seems they should have put this out before garmin did there’s and it would have been a game changer compared to the lab radar. I will say I did like Caldwell’s app when I had their regular chrono. But reading the specs on this one I’m not that impressed…acoustic trigger…built in sight for aiming it…sounds like it might have many of the same problems the lab radar does. The garmin just works…like every time all the time no matter what…full stop! I’ve had 4 other ones besides the garmin and they were all temperamental. Mind you they were all cheaper units except for the lab radar but it’s really nice to now have the garmin and not worry about it just doing it’s only job.

Want 2 yard readings? No sight required with the Garmin (or soon the LX).
Want 100 yard readings? Maybe need to sight one in.

The 24GHZ units already have FCC type approval.
The 60GHZ units had to fight with the FCC on power levels and might even still be 'in the loop' and be released soon.
The Caldwell was to be released back in 2022, but changes in the "Rules" kept them off the Market. My guess is Frengency, Power level had to be "Reprogrammed" and resubmitted.

If someone gets one of the 60GHZ in their hot little hands I would be interested in reading what data has been posted with their FCC application, but need the FCC ID.

Units like the Andiscan don't need FCC approval.
You can easily slip them through customs.
