New Build today ~17 Mach IV~

Hillbilly I have to compliment you on your smithing skills. Not just this one ,but all your builds look great and from what I have seen shoot the same. Now for that 17. Tried that many years ago. The loss of hide from making brass to seating bullets just wasn't worth it. Looks like you have it mastered.

I picked up a prefit a few years ago in 17FB, package deal, dies, brass, bullets. Later a fellow gave me a pile of once fired brass.
I was on a 17HH kick at the time and it was throwing me a fit. Put the 17FB together and did very little with the 17HH after that, I did get the issues figured out but the 17FB was a lot easier to work with. All I run are 20 grain bullets.
The little case made me go forward with a 20VT. I had some brass but not as much as I liked. 221 brass was demanding a ridiculous price. I ended up making my own. Dies and mini chop saw I was in business and will never be at the mercy of supply again.
I found the RCBS gold medal inline/window seating did to be the ticket when working with little cartridges.

I shot an original MK IV for a long time in a Kimber 84, Remington 25gr PLHP.
That and a 17 CCM were my go to rigs.
Finally ditched the MK IV because it was super sensitive to warm weather pressure spikes if you loaded it hot(ish) once the 20’s came, now run 2 TAC20’s and never looked back.
Nice rifle.
