New build, first blood.....

Just finished this rifle this week...308 Win. 40X action, McMillan Remington Hunter stock with Accurate Arms bottom metal...Schneider barrel with JGS national match chamber. Almost forgot...Timney Calvin Elite trigger set at 8 ounces.
This woodchuck is the first one I have seen this year...547 yards on the laser. I'd like to say I meant to hit it in the side of the head...but, in fact I was just glad to make contact!!! Look at the finger on the second picture, this thing has one finger that looks like it could be human or ape!!! never seen that before. No, I didn't photoshop this!!!

Thank you sir, very kind of you to say so. I still intend to finish the barrel, probably with matte gray Gunkote like the receiver. I like the way it shoots and it doesn't foul, but I spent as much time getting a decent surface finish on the outside of that barrel as I did threading and reaming the chamber.

Thank you sir!!! The barrel is a 1-in-12 twist and I chambered the rifle with the JGS "National Match" reamer. I tried some 155 grain A-Max bullets, but they didn't do too well...so I just tried Hornady 168 BTHP match bullets and it liked those. I got my come-ups figured out and the sun was still bright, so I decided to try my luck in a big hay field that just recently "greened up".

I've got a Schneider on my .22-250, love it. Another will go on my .20 practical build.
