New Brass

Received 100 new RP 22-250 cases today and both my pocket uniformers are too small to shave any metal. Is this normal? I've never worked with brass that hadn't been fireformed first. Does fireforming tighten up the pocket, or do I have a bum load of brass?

Do you mean the pockets are too deep to be uniformed? As long as you can ignite the primers, I would give uniforming another try after the fireforming process is completed. In my 6.5x47, I use 22-250 cases and never uniform primer pockets before the case has been fully fireformed.
