I read somewhere that Cabela's HD optics are made by Meopta in Czech.

Yes. But only the Instinct Euro HD line. I have the Meopta made binos and spotting scope. They also make some of the high end Cabelas riflescopes

Now Cabelas is having binoculars and riflescopes made by Vortex, but the Krotos doesn't appear to be made by vortex. Definitely doesn't appear to be made by Meopta either

Had a chance to compare the Krotos to a Swarovski today I felt like I was comparing Diamonds to Rock salt. Returned the Krotos today with no questions asked .

Yeah they aren't on the same level as top European glass. But your gonna pay $2K more to get into a Swaro. I posted this thread to state that the 15-45x65 is really good glass for the money. I don't have experience with the 20-60x85.
