New Barrel Company?

Bought a 25 caliber from this company to use for a 25-45 Sharps. Contour was varmint, ran straight on the centers, easy to dial in and put it on a Savage action with no nut. During load development was putting three in under 3/4 inch with several 3 shots under half inch. Clean up was a breeze with no hint of copper. These are mid priced barrels and would work really well on a hunting rig. Might check them out. raggedholebarrels.net
I am NOT affiliated with Ragged Hole Barrels.

Just did a little research , comes back as a Canadian company . Just started in June , kinda strange if they can sell the barrels here in the states .

I am one of the two owners of Barrel Brothers LLC aka raggedholebarrels.net out of Sparks, NV... We are a brand new start up company that linked up with Wilson Arms for bolt action barrels. We are US company that buys in blocks of 100 or more from direct from Wilson Arms. The barrels are button pulled; hand lapped and air gauged. We consider these barrels to be an upper mid grade barrel (3/4 MOA with reports of 1/2 MOA with hand loads) for a budget price.

Our website is ragedholebarrels.net - I know we need a bit (putting it mildly) of help on the website!!! Lol. We are gunsmiths - not computer guys - so we have limited skills on the computer... that said - I'm open to trades for a computer savvy shooter that wants to help run a website. Anyone???

Some of the options we can do are: thread and short chamber (I have over 100 reamers and counting); Savage pre-fit barrels; Remage barrels. Both owners are graduates of Lassen College Gunsmithing 2yr program and have over a couple hundred rifle builds under my belt alone. I don't think I'm PO Ackley but I do enjoy riflesmithing, constantly learning more and know we build some solid rifles. I'm always happy to talk shooting so feel free to send a note.

We usually have a fair selection of barrels and have 2/3 different contours running currently. #3 .670" at 26"; #4 .685 at 26 and a Light Varmint .800" at 26" - straight taper.

100 for chrome moly - shank diameter is 1.180"
160 for Stainless - shank diameter is 1.200"
220 for Fluted stainless - shank diameter is 1.200"

At times we have fully blueprinted Rem 700 actions available (we even carry Left handed) if you are in need of an action/bolt for your next build. Inventory constantly changes - so feel free to keep in touch.

Bare with the website as upgrades and changes will happen very soon. In the meantime feel free to contact me here for questions or give me a call. Thanks John Bredderman 415-705-9498

I happened to pick up a "Wilson" barrel blank a few years ago for a "KILLER" price. Wildcat project and didn't want to spend BIG $$ and not be happy with the chambering.
Was told by a friend that "Wilson" barrels (who happened to have been around for a looong time) were junk because they wern't lapped? Had it chambered up and threaded for my action. Turns out to be as good as or even better than some of my better known Named barrels (Shilen, Pac Nor, Douglas) Cleans up as smooth as silk. Sometimes you need to try something and find out for yourself.:D

Thanks for the replys!! Wilson DOES lap the barrels we get from them... The barrels are a high mid grade barrel! They are what I consider 3/4 MOA barrels and capable of 1/2 MOA for many shooters. That said Krieger; Rock Creek; Brux and Bartlein are better barrels but they are also 200 bucks more. For a hunting rifle - these barrels are lights out! I would go head to head with any of the other "button rifled" barrels. X-claiber; Pac-Nor; Shilen; ect. I have built rifles with almost every barrel maker out there and bang for the buck (no pun intended) the Wilson barrels are as good as any of the other upper mid grade barrels - just 50-100 bucks less!

Also thoughts on a group buy? We would do something like an introductory price of 150 for SS non-fluted barrels and 210 for fluted.

Are you all planning to do prefits for AR platform?
We are looking into that and hope to offer AR pre-fits in the future. I know Wilson's AR barrels are a solid choice and should at least be considered for an upgrade or even caliber swap... We have fooled around with hand turning Wilson SS barrel blanks into AR-10 260; 6.5 Creedmoor and a 7-08... Turning by hand was long and very time consuming!! But it was done for poops and gigles.

I will ask Wilson about the AR barrels - I would bet they do a run for us! The non traditional AR calibers may be difficult but what caliber are you looking for?

I can offer you a fully blueprinted Rem 700 with a Wilson match grade SS barrel for 1,000. 1250 if you prefer a Krieger; Rock Creek; or Bartlein barrel.

All actions have the tenon being opened up .010" to 1.0725" and new threads single point cut. The action lugs; face; and threads all have been squared and trued center to bore. The bolt lugs, front and back have been squared and trued as well as the bolt nose and face. All machine work is dial indicated to .0001" before being single point cut... Add 200 for your choice of color with a cerakote finish.

Feel free to give me a call - 415-705-9498
