I'm just getting started in reloading, and I've been through all 49 pages of threads - let me tell you, ya'll have got something for everyone. Very informative reading through those.

To my question -

I have ordered the Lee Challenger press kit for my use, which is deer hunting, shooting groundhogs, and any situation where I can hear the gun go bang. I know the Lee kit is said not to be the best for various reasons, but it fits my college student budget, and comes with a lot of tools.

I was wondering if anyone out there had any recommendations on other things I might need?

The kit comes with the press, scale, primer, funnel, powder dispenser, and some shellholders. I've already gotten my die set,RCBS) in .25-06, and have a couple of reloading manuals as well.

Please let me know of any other helpful information out there. Thanks.

I believe your kit also includes a trimmer and case lube, so I'll add a caliper to your needs list.

You will want to get a better scale. The Lee scale is junk in my book. I would look into a RCBS 505 or equivalent Lyman. One tool I would also get is the Lyman inside the case primer hole de-burring tool. It does not cost much but when you remove the primer hole burr where they punch the primer hole on the inside of the case your accuracy level will get better.
You will need powder primers and bullets. I do a lot of shooting with a 25-06 and if you want one load to do most everything with from ground hog to deer try this. Remington case, 49 grs. of IMR or Accuate Arms 4350, CCI BR2 primer, 117gr Sierra,either BT of FB, my rifle likes the FB best)C.O.L. 3.150 . This load runs 3000 fps from my 26 inch Shilen barrel. Sight in 3 inches high at 100 yards and at 300 yards you are only 1 inch low. This is a real deer killing load. Good luck.
