New 700 action

I saw some good prices on 700 adl's at academy today. I have a few customs built on older 700's. Are these new actions gtg for building on or is worth the wait and extra money for older actions

No appreciable difference, it's still a crap shoot. Best thing that can be said of the new ones is they are CNC machined.

Late model S/S & G prefix receivers(not all) have a step clock wise of the extraction cam surface & a step in the bottom fwd corner of the bolt handle cut,making .006"-.008" handle location imposable.

The latest version(SG1,SG2),bolt handle castings are junk, as the extraction cam surface angle is several degrees too steep & timing is almost non-existent.

Best choice is to send them to me for truing. Write it off as a loss and know I am doing you a favor in the long run. : ). Funning aside, they are worth truing.
