I'm new to this forum and this is my first post so, let me first say hello. Recently, as were many others, I was selected to test some of the new Berger Bullets. They are the 105, 107 and the 108. These are Non-VLD style bullets and initial testing is showing promise. I have a post here Link with the first bit of information. I had been contacted recently by the Moderator,Paul) asking if he could use some of the pictures for a review he was doing. Since Paul contributes so much of his time to making 6mmBR.com the success it is and, since the site has helped me a great deal, I felt it was only fair to post here also and share this information with those that may be interested. Below are two pictures of my rifle, a 6mmBR of course and a 330 yard target with the first 5 shot group fired with the new 107's, thanks again for a great site.

William,

Welcome aboard. I'm sure you have much knowledge to share with our readers over there. Thanks for posting your results with the new, prototype Bergers.

I'm envious of your action. I've always thought a Stainless Viper would be just about the ultimate...

This rifle is absolutely the most accurate rifle I have ever owned/fired short of the PPC. This project has far surpassed my expectations and the rifle continues to impress me. 6mmBR.com is were I did my first bit of research when I set out to build a 600/1000 rifle and were I also found my first loads, RL15 and the powder I finally settled on, VVN140. This is no doubt one of the finest sites on the WWW dedicated to extreme rifle accuracy, thank you so very much for your contributions.

I am glad to see you are doing some testing for Berger and sharing your results. That is exactly what forums like this are for the sharing of information.
Can you give us your equipment details as well in case someone new to the board wants to build a rifle.
Lynn

Lynn,

The rifle is built around a Stainless Viper LBLP F Class Receiver with a 20 MOA Rail machined into it and a 2oz Jewell BR trigger hanging under it. The Barrel is a 30", 1.250" straight taper, 8 twist Krieger chambered in 6mmBR Norma with a .269" neck, we used a PTG Reamer for it. The Stock is a McMillan Tooley MBR, the receiver is pillar bedded into the stock with Steel Devcon. The color of the paint is "Oreeole Orange" and is a House of Color product. This is a candy color sprayed over a white base in a three step process, the base first then three coats of a clear that is tinted with color and finally the clear is applied over that. The scope is a Leupold 8.5x20x50 LRT mounted in Burris rings. My match load is 30.8 grains of VVN140, F205M Primer, Lapua Brass neck turned to a loaded diameter .268" and a 107SMK tops it off .005" in the lands. This load produces a velocity of about 2,918 fps. This gun shoots lights out, I fully expect the Bergers to shoot well under .250" moa at 330 yards+.

I too was selected to do the Berger testing and am very impressed with how the test bullets shot. In my 6mmBR Eliseo tube gun I shot a .560 and .663 group at 200 meters with the 105g and 107g bullets. In my 6mmAR,AR15) I shot a group of .528 with the 108g test bullets at 200 Meters. These are both over the course rifles and not bench rest setup.

I could be wrong but those groups would be more impressive at 500 or 600 yards

Your right, they would be impressive at 500 or 600 yards. I only posted them because they showed some promise and looked like they would shoot. That load hasn’t even been tuned to my rifle. The vertical is only .614" and works out to .186" MOA, the two shots to the far left was wind, I was just holding dead on, no adjustment. 1.467" at 330 yards is no big deal, nothing to be proud of there. Like I said, I'm just sharing data, good, bad or indifferent.
