New 6br 10tw barrel, brass, & dies. Now What??

Just picked up a new new 24" 10 twist 6br barrel for the Encore platform, 100 Lapua brass, & Redding fl dies. Now what? I've read just about everything on this site concerning the 6br & load data, but there have been a lot of new powders & bullets to come out recently & some of this load info is a fer years old. This is also my first calibre rifle under a 6.5mm. Yes, I'm one of those 6.5 Guys. I'm not looking for the magic bullet/powder combo. Load developement is where the fun comes in for me. This will be primarily used by my daughter as a trainer for banging steel & to thin out a few coyotes at her grandparents farm. The 10 twist is the sticking point as I think anything over 95 grainers wouldn't stabilize. I have h4227, imr4064, h4350, rl17 powders on hand wich may work for starters. Thanks in advance. KMG

Hello and welcome. I've shot for yeeears with standard cartridges until I finally got my first 6br. It's a great round. I went to the cartridge guide on this forum, picked my bullet Loaded my Lapua brass with some test loads and headed to the range. First time out, I shot some .3s. For me, that was great. I picked the Hornady 105, Varget and CCI 450 primers. My gun liked 29.4 grains. Good choice for picking the 6br. You'll like it. Go to the bulletin page and look on the left side. Hit the 6br slot and you'll find a wealth of info. Good luck!

I like RL15 and Varget. The 87 Vmax is a great Varmint bullet. The 90 gr. BT Berger is a great target bullet.
