New 600 yd NBRSA target

benchresttargetsus0.jpg

I am attempting to post a pic of the new 600 yd target....what does everyone think ...is it big enough ...tooo small...jsut rite.....Roger

Whew ..I got the pic on here...I like the way you post pics on this site...very simple and user friendly....good for us puter ileterate folks....
The target that is upper left is the new reduced size 600 yd NBRSA target.....The big target on the right is what we have shot for several yrs...and the other smaller targets are a 100,200 and 300 yd Benchrest target...I think it has been reduced a little too much....there is only 1.5 moa between the bull and off the paper....a 10mph wind at 600 yds moves the bullet 3.2moa and 22 inches !!!! if there is a lil hickup to the wind ..you are off the paper....Half of the target is aprox 8 inches..if you want to aim on the target,,at the bull for instance)) and hit the target you will be cranking on the scope all day...It seem if the scores were getting too good the scoreing rings could have been made smaller to make it more difficult but leave the paper big so that the competitors could get on and stay on the paper....what do you all think....
I laid a six foot rule across the targets so that you could measure and judge for yourselves,,being a retired pipefitter,,I just happend to have a rule handy..haha))....Roger

Roger,

Thanks for the picture. Any chance you can take a close-up of the new target by itself, with the measuring tape in the picture.

I'd like to have a close-up picture to use in the next Blog.

That's a pretty darn small X-ring. This just shows you how far we've come in terms of accuracy.

HI Danny....here is the guy to get the 600yd targets from..,,,,,.Roger

That looks exactly like the NRA Highpower SR 200 yard target, except in blue instead of black.

Check the latest BLOG on the home page. The "score-able" area on the new target is 17.5" x 17.5". Hits below the blue line at the bottom count as misses. The new X-ring is just 1.2" in diameter, while the new 10-ring is just 2.8".

This new target is 40% of the 1000-yard target, compared to 60% previously.

New target 10 ring is 2.8", X ring is 1.2".
Target dimensions are 22.5" tall by 17.5" wide.
Scorable part of the target is 17.5" square above the blue line as stated previously by Forum Boss.
