New 6 XC Build advise

I'm getting ready to start a new 6 XC project. Building it on a 700 Rem SA BDL for hunting/shooting rifle. I will be shooting 105 VLD's and 115 VLD's so was thinking on a 7.5 twist Light Palma. I was looking at a Kreiger 4 groove but also like the Lilja 3 groove. Have a lilja on a 6 mm AI that I love. I have two reamers to chose from one is a .274 Neck/.104 free bore and the other a .276 neck/.090 free bore. Any recommendations would be appreciated. If you would recommend a different barrel I'm listing. thanks for the help. Rick

Have a 3 groove Lilja 8 twist in the 6XC VERY happy with it.

I use the .274NK with the .104 free bore the 105 vld's are in to the base of the neck touching. 115's would be just into the donut area if you have donuts. so .090 will be way too short. I use the .274 neck with unturned norma brass. they could be lightly touched with a neck turner and you would still be ok. I see no reason to go as big as .276 in the neck but some do..if any thing slightly longer free bore would not hurt I think some run a .146 that may be slightly long. but until you try one the .274 104 works well..with 105's and lighter..115's are longer and I have never tried them. I set up my .243 30Imp at .130 free bore.

I have a 10 twist 6 groove Lilja on a Rem 700BDL SA in a contour 5(?) and am EXCEPTIONALLY happy with it. I also have 2 6xc's that I shoot competition with one in 12 twist and one in 9 twist.

The 10 twist rifle shoots 70- 87gr bullets very well. It has shown me reliable accuracy, and some spectacular hits on 'chucks and coyotes with the 75gr Vmax's. I am getting very near or above my 243 velocities with it and using much less powder. Love it. I have a few Lilja barreled rifles in the safe and all of them shoot very well. WD
