New .284 build, first time trying a candy finish

All the paints (base coat, marblizer, and Kandy top coats) are House of Kolor, pre-mixed, from Amazon. The clear urethane is USC Spray Max 2K, also from Amazon.

Hows the stock handle as far as springboard effect, stiffness, etc?

Haven't shot it yet, but it is super stiff, shouldn't have any bouncing. The barrel also sits pretty low, so that should help eliminate some torque.

I have to admit I have been wanting to do something similar for a while. I always end up getting pieces of wood with such good figure I can not bring myself to paint it. Love the color!

Seeing your beautiful paint work has me longing for another paint booth. Love the Candy effect over a marbleized base. Your choice of colors adds a delightful contrast too. Very nice!

I've not used that clear coat before. How hard is it to cut and polish? Does it resist dents well after a decent curing period? Do you force dry?

After the Spray Max cures, it is super hard, it does cut and polish up nice, the stock pictured is straight from the can. I have two others that I cleared with it and after a full season and a half there are no scratches, or dents.

Just air dry 24 hrs before any serious handling, hard cure in a week(ish)

Beautiful job!
I've never used HOK marbleizer.
Did you spray it over black?

High build primer (lots of it to fill in the grain of the wood plys), then Black Pearl base coat, then silver/white marbleizer, then the Kandy. From the time that I started to shoot the Black Pearl base coat to the time I was finished spraying the clear was a little over an hour.
