New 284 build. cases are not chambering question

I was also wondering if there may be differences in the Go? Being cheap, the go I ordered was most likely 10-20 years old, used from ebay.

The chamber reamer was claimed to be for Lapua 6.5x284 brass,,,,,could this potentially be an issue not closing on the Go?

I heard folks running into issues with case, base width not using lapua brass in these chambers...

The smart thing to do would have been to get a gauge from the same place you got your reamer. Sometimes being cheap does not save money.

LOL, ya, story of my life....buy something three times just to get one that works. And the money spent ends up being more than would have been spent. Getting better, have really embraced the "buy once, cry once" methodology with the shooting sports...

Heck if it is that close why not bump the shoulders back a bit more. While there are shell holders that come in different heights from Sinclair, you could save time and money by grinding some metal off the top of your shell holder. I have done more than once. Better than grinding off some of the bottom of the FL or body bump die which also works.

I would be dying of curiosity to see just how short it really is. Bet it is only a few thousandths short.

Did you happen to measure the datum line of the 6.5-284 and compared it to necked brass?

I watched a gunsmith, that made a chamber a tad too short, lap the lugs to increase the headspace which seemed strange but if the lugs needed it then it served two functions.

I went back to add to my post and can't.

You should measure the distance from shoulder to base of the 6.5-284 and the 284 brass. If it is the same then I would think the neck turning dimension you are working with is incorrect. Do you own the reamer or have a copy of the working drawing to verify the neck size of the chamber? Perhaps you will have to contact the gunsmith and verify the neck dimension.
