New 22 barrel for my 22ppc What twist?

I just came across a good supply of 53 gr Hornady V MAX bullets from my brother. They have worked good on my 22ppc with a 14 twist barrel. I am going to get me a new barrel for my gun and have it chambered in 22PPC again. What i would like to know is for some of you that shoot a 22PPC with 53GR v max bullets is, what twist of barrel have you 22PPC AFECIONADOS have had good results with shooting the 53GR v max bullets 8-9-10-or12 twist? I am going to order this new barrel in a few days so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm not an expert and not a competitor but I get mucho joy from my Cooper Varmint Rifle in 22 PPC with 52 grain Bergers, 50 and 55 grain VMax using H322. It has a 14 twist.

Anybody know where to get 52 grain Berger Match bullets these days?

Or quicker......my 9 twist 223AI really likes the 53 V's.......

Yah, my mistake, eyes are getting too old for this little iPad display . It needs 1:11 or better, at 3700, according to JBM. Go through those again. I might not have the length and plastic tip length definitions correct.

Update: I believe that I have the total length right at 0.830. I used 0.1 for the plastic tip. That should be verified.

I know a guy that shot them (53Vmax) from a 14 twist 22BR at 3850fps. they worked fantastic....

I`m using a 22BRDX case and a 12 twist for mine.......now to just get it finished and see..... :

I am using 10 twist for that application in 223 & 223AI with good results. My friend's Rem VSSF w/12 twist doesn't seem to like them much.

Hopefully the 223 and it`s AI cousin are just down on powder and the BR case will make up for the twist.....

I will try the 12 twist and see what happens. this will be for squirrels and coyotes keeping the velocity about 34 to 3500 FPS. thanks for the info amigos.
