I just talked to John at 21st Century, and he is excited about a new addition to his line-up. He sent me a link to the video of this new addition (below). It is a Powered Neck Turning lathe. It is based off the original 21st Century Neck Turning Lathe. The integrated power head/case driver slides on two stainless rails. The power button is in the handle to enable the user complete feed rate control to allow for a smooth and accurate turn. There are two models, a 300 RPM version and a 600 RPM version. The 600 RPM model is what is shown in the video turning 284 Shehane brass generating absolutely no heat. Here is the video:

Check it out! I know I want one! John said that they will be available on his website soon. Not sure on the price yet either. Thought I would get it out and let you all have a look!

I just bought the power tail stock with a case holder. Does that actually center on the primer hole? Regardless its a vast improvement over chucking brass in their competitors case holder in an electric drill. I haven't done any measurements, but visually the case runs a truer. I like the thinking behind the equipment. Brant

I am very happy for those who have not purchased the older lathe. Not so happy for myself who bought the older one 3 weeks ago. Such is progress. I sure hope there will be an upgrade or trade in.

hmmm i hope that is all dialed in to less then .0001.
your gonna have some strange necks.
go see what jackie on benchrest central does.
turn a mandrel in the chuck so it is true, press a case on
and turn with a lathe cutter.
no mis-alignement

Running at 600 rpm and absolutely no heat and taking those big cuts..... sorry but if you have any experience neck turning, you would know that is pure science fiction.....
