Obama merely blocked re-importations/sales of weapons such as M1 Garands/M1Carbines.
Concerning the element of who was responsible for destroying “obsolete” US Weapons, the following entry should help clear up a few common, but incorrect myths…

Nice research GotRDid!!!! Thank you for clarifying a rumor from long ago!!!
A rumor that was past around in the old mom and pop gun stores!!!
CALL ME A FISH FOR BITING THAT ONE!!!!!!
I'm still never going to shoot a M14!!! But the old Ruger 180, 181, 182 series Mini-14s were awesome!!!

I used an M-14 as a Member of the KY State High Power Rifle Team in 1988. This was right at the beginning of the introduction of AR15/M16 into the Across the Course High Power discipline. Started out as an alternate, but was selected for one of the Teams to go to Camp Perry.
My rifle was improved to NM standards by the Army, and in the one season I could participate, I likely fired 2,500 rounds in practice and matches that year. Mostly M118 Ball and Match, but as we prepared for Perry, I went through 2 460 rd cans of the M852. I pretty sure the brass from those days has been loaded at least 3 times each by now.

Loved that rifle so much that I eventually bought an SA M1A NM; as eyesight became the limiting factor even with progressive glasses, I made it into an M21 clone. Absolutely one of the most fun toys I have.

New owner to the 1903A3 and have a few questions. I started a account on the CMP forum but its having issues with posting and searching. So I came here to ask a few questions while waiting on email reply. Anyone who owns or knowledge on resizing brass for the 03A3. First I FL size brass and shot brass to chamber form. From there on do I neck size only or FL size every time. Looking at 3 piece doe set for this job. FL die, neck only die and seating die. Any info will is greatly appreciated.
Side note is there a must have book on the 03A3 in regards to this post and more.
I'd like to add to the other comments, if at all possible, start with a go-no-go case gauge. Sizing brass is a lot like looking at a great bikini, it covers everything it needs to-and nothing more.
